Loyalton Library Opens Just Two Afternoons a Week, Wednesday and Thursday

LOYALTON — November 2, 2026. Sierra County’s library directory lists the Loyalton volunteer-staffed branch at 511 Main Street with a regular schedule of two weekday afternoons.

Short public hours

The published times are Wednesday and Thursday, 1–4 p.m. The branch has print and digital collections, public computer access and internet resources through a partnership with Plumas County Library.

Library cards are free

Sierra County says new patrons can apply using photo identification and proof of mailing address. Participating users can access digital borrowing and other network resources, though special services may not be staffed on every short opening day.

Call ahead

The branch lists 530-993-1105. Volunteer staffing and weather in eastern Sierra County can affect operations; do not drive to town solely on the assumption that a particular hold, printer or staff member will be available.
