LOYALTON — November 2, 2026. Sierra County Public Works lists the Loyalton Transfer Station at 1 Garbage Pit Road, with general customer access from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends.
Hours and services
The county’s current waste directory gives Saturday and Sunday access and says county-observed holidays can change the schedule. Loyalton is one of the county transfer sites that accept certain mattress and appliance recycling streams.
Different loads, different rules
Used oil, CRV bottles, metals, appliances, e-waste and general waste are not necessarily handled in the same location or for the same price. Sierra County publishes a fee schedule and lists special restrictions on vehicles, construction debris and bulky waste.
Before transporting materials
Check the official fee page and call County Public Works at 530-289-3201. An old web brochure may show different days or rates; the current county operations page and posted gate rules should govern the visit.
